A cooking class and discussion with Alison Caldwell, Sustainable Food Expert

Thank you to those who came to our hosted event at the Center for a Healthy Lifestyle in Solana Beach!

We were excited to present Cooking with Alison Caldwell, a sustainable food expert, who taught a cooking class and led a discussion on sustainable, non GMO food.

We really enjoyed Alison’s menu that consisted of:
Local Kabocha Squash Soup, Organic kale,  sausage quinoa stuffing , Sustainable sweet potato gnocchi, and for dessert...apple pie in a jar.

The class was informative, interactive and fun! We made sage butter from scratch, homemade gnocchi and, even learned what a ricer is used for (good for boiled potatoes and other soft food to make into smaller grains).

We also got to enjoy delicious fresh apple cider provided from Smit’s Orchards.

What a great night and we look forward to hosting more events!
